Last Sunday we made our way into Birmingham to take part in the first ever Small Press Fair at Ikon Gallery. The sun shone, the roads were clear, and we’re happy to say the day delivered on that early promise. It was great to meet up with and chat to other indie publishers – Fawn Press has the most beautifully produced books of poetry, if you’re interested – and welcome visitors to our stall.
We sold books. We watched Ian Elmslie captivate an audience with excerpts from his book A Marvellous Party. We even got our band-new thingummy which accepts card payments to work. And the sun was still shining as we drove home. Days don’t come much better than that.
