Summer. And things are hotting up here at Ignite Books.
This Saturday (June 10) our latest book – Dancing Barefoot, by Glyn Brown – is officially launched in her home town of Whitstable, which is as good a reason to head to this coastal Kent town as you’re ever going to need.
Glyn’s book is an absolute belter, and has already received glowing praise (is there any other kind?) from high-profile authors such as Kate Mosse – who called it ‘a beautifully-written, honest, beguiling memoir and detective story’ – and Erica Wagner, who said of it ‘Brown’s voice is gorgeously untamed, blending the vivid story of her own life with the lives of other remarkable women from history who lived by their wits – the reader is lucky to get to know them’.
If that’s not enough for you, we say it’s brilliant as well, and well worth splashing out on, and when have we ever given you a bum steer? Dear reader, the answer is never. So get yourselves over to Whitstable on Saturday – or pop along to our online shop any time you fancy – and treat yourselves to a phenomenal piece of storytelling.
Oh, and if you can’t make it to Whitstable, Glyn will be in conversation with Erica Wagner at the Triangle Cafe Bar in Deptford (that there London) on the evening of July 13 to mark Dancing Barefoot’s official publication. We’ll share more info about that nearer the time, but put it in your diaries. It’ll be worth it!
