Yep, City Baby has sold out once more. The entirety of the sixth print run – bar the one, solitary, lonely copy in this picture – has made its way out into the world from here in Ignite Villas. Blimey. That’s a lot of copies.
You won’t be surprised to hear that City Baby is far and away our best-selling book (although one or two of our other titles are giving it a run for its money). What surprises us, though, is how well it continues to sell. It’s twelve years since we first published Ross’s life story, and none of us expected it to do quite so amazingly well. Yes, Ross’s story is captivating, hilarious, and moving, and deserves to be read as widely as possible, but received wisdom would suggest that a book about the bassist in a Birmingham punk band has a limited apeal.
We’re delighted to have proved that received wisdom wrong, and an order for another run of books – the seventh – has been placed with the printers this morning. Watch this space for news of when the book is back in stock.
